17th September   Juvenile Arthritis/ Uvetis Fundraising Dinner

This disease not only affects the joints in children but it also affects their eyes, which can lead to blindness. Arthritis affects 1 in 1000 children. For the past two years the JAF committee have been actively seeking the support of friends, organisations, businesses and the general public alike, through a fund raising dinner, to aid in the research for finding a cure and they are extremely proud to say that they have achieved so much! Their efforts have enabled the University of New South Wales to open the first ever research laboratory for Juvenile Arthritis / Uveitis in Australia. In order to make this event successful again, the committee require prizes, gifts and cash donations from organisations and businesses. They will be holding various raffles and a live Auction on the night, as well as great entertainment . The dinner is being held at the Doltone House Sylvania Waters on 17th September 2010 and will have an attendance of 400 people. ATTRACTIONS: Up to 200 high quality craft and produce stalls, with stallholders and artisans coming from as far away as Queensland, the Hunter Valley, Sydney, Canberra, and the far South Coast. There will also be many local stallholders and artisans in attendance. This Fair will be an ideal opportunity for visitors to purchase unique and handcrafted Christmas presents and gifts. There will be an exciting range of food and refreshments available, including Turkish, Italian, and typically Australian cuisine. Visitors will also be able to taste some of the fine wines produced at the winery.

ENTERTAINMENT: This year, high emphasis has again been placed on the Fair’s entertainment program. On stage will be well-known club performer, Johnny Spitz, local singer/songwriter, Wayne Ryder, and exciting displays by students of Louise Caine's Step By Step Dance Academy. A new feature of this year’s Fair will be the addition of local School Choirs to the entertainment program. It is planned to have up to six junior and senior local school choirs performing on stage. For the children there will be clowns, balloon sculptors, aero-jump trampolines, a merry-go-round, giant inflatables, miniature motorised jeeps, showbags, and more.
