Darwin Fringe Festival - The Darwin Fringe Festival will not be held in 2010. Darwin Community Arts (DCA), which manages the Festival, invited the Darwin arts community in 2009 and early 2010 to take over the Fringe but we have had no response so far. DCA is happy to discuss handing over the management of the Fringe to another body for 2011. Website: http://www.darwinfringe.com.au/

Alice Desert Festival
Be inspired and entertained with the diversity of desert arts and the Central Australian lifestyle. Alice Springs is the meeting place of many different cultures and the Alice Desert Festival will celebrate this rich diversity. The Alice Desert Festival is a unique annual event showcasing the thriving community of visual and performing artists, both indigenous and non indigenous from the Central Australian region. The Festival attracts inspirational acts from interstate and overseas.
The festival brings to the streets, theatres, galleries and public venues of Alice Springs, a kaleidoscope of events from theatre, dance, film screenings, sculpture, music, poetry readings, physical theatre, workshops, pottery, writing and book launches, indigenous art and craft, to concert evenings of jazz, orchestral, hip hop, samba, salsa, fusion and world music. Alice Springs Town Council Christmas Carnival
The Alice Springs Council Christmas Carnival is jammed packed with activities and live entertainment for people of all ages. This family friendly community event will have a mix of magicians, circus performers, buskers, magicians and balloon twisters roving the mall. Whilst you shop amongst the numerous market stalls, listen to the sounds of Alice’s local musicians. The stalls offer a variety of arts and crafts, fresh produce, plants, clothes, books, jewellery and global foods that will give that enhanced shopping experience for the last minute Christmas shopper. Explore Alice Springs Town Council Vibrant Night Markets

2009 Night Market Dates: August 27th, Sept 17th, October 15th, November 12th.

Todd Mall, Alice Springs. The Alice Springs night markets were implemented in 2006 as part of Alice Springs Town Council's contribution to 'strengthening the position of Alice Springs Tourism'. Held on a Thursday, monthly from August through to November, the markets are located in the Alice Springs Todd Mall from 5-9pm, with plenty of entertainment for the whole family.

Markets are often themed and complement major events such as the Henley on Todd, Alice Desert Festival, and Alice Springs Masters Games etc. The Alice Springs Night Markets have been devised to give visitors a safe and enjoyable outback experience where the many assorted and novel stalls can be explored.

Shop till you drop for authentic Indigenous art and craftworks, recycled treasures, books, photos, handmade clothing and jewellery. You’ll be surprised at what you will find. Eat till your hearts content with a tasty treat from one of the enticing multi cultural food vendors.

Chill out, catch up with friends and watch the world go by on the Church Lawns with a heavenly local roasted coffee, freshly made donut, refreshing fruit sorbet, delectable cupcake or just hang out under the Sails and listen to the riveting, intoxicating, electric, rousing grooves of diverse Alice Springs talent. Wander on down. The whole family will enjoy a great evening at the market.
