October - March   Top End Mud Racing
Hidden Valley Road, Darwin, Northern Territory. Grab the family for an action packed night of mud racing. Held in the tropical season, this loud, fast pace, exciting and very very dirty sport (for the competitors) is great viewing for all the family. Watch as VW Beetles to purpose built high powered Top Gun vehicles complete against each other, and the clock, through a 700 metre course. There's plenty of room to spread out and watch as the drivers and their cars fight their way through deep mud and water. Food and beverages (including a bar) are available on the night. Held once a month on Saturday night in the tropical season October - March. Top End Mud Racing are celebrating this year after having been rewarded the Darwin Community Event for 2010.

16th November   International Day of Tolerance
Observed on 16 November each year, the day was declared by UNESCO in 1995 to generate public awareness of the dangers of intolerance.
