Boonah 2010 Arts Festival
Presented by the Boonah Arts Collective. The festival features local artists, music, food, craft, fiction events, markets and more. 10.00am to 6.00pm at the Boonah and District Cultural Centre, High St, Boonah.

 

4th - 6th September  

RedFest
Redland Spring Festival is a celebration of music, art, food and community held in Cleveland, QLD on beautiful Moreton Bay. Gates open Friday 4th September 2010 from 5pm – 9pm, Saturday 5th September from 9am – 9pm and Sunday 6th September from 9am – 5pm. The Festival Program and ticketing information is available from the website at www.redfest.com.au There is an exciting line up of performers, a lantern parade followed by fireworks on Saturday evening, and a variety of activities and workshops (including our world famous strawberry eating competition) running over the weekend for children and adults to get involved in.

Swell Sculpture Festival 2010 - Currumbin
Immerse yourself in art when sixty of the world's leading artists showcase outdoor sculpture along the picturesque Currumbin Beach Ocean-Walkway. This unique festival celebrates new and innovative forms of public art, with all mediums including steel, glass, stone, timber and bronze on display. There’s plenty to do after you’ve taken in all the magnificent artworks, including twilight sculpture tours, meet the artist talks, children's interactive sculpture, gourmet barbeques and a live music stage.

Village Festival of Arts and Music 2010 - Yeppoon
A kaleidoscope of colour and contemporary culture, this festival features music, performing, visual and cultural arts, children’s activities, street theatre, workshops, food, stalls, and on-site camping. The Capricorn Coast’s major art celebration, it attracts local, state and national art and music enthusiasts. Get crafty on the Keppel Coast with the Village Arts and Music Festival.

Cairns Street Buskers Festival 2010
Got the giggles? The Cairns Street Buskers Festival is a five-day, non-stop chuckle-fest with comedy shows, circus acts and musicians to boot. See the streets of Cairns light up with laughter – but don’t forget to bring some change!

16th - 17th October   Bowen Cultural Seafood Festival 2010
Annual seafood festival with a free open air concert at the Front Beach Soundshell on the Saturday night. Entertainment throughout the entire weekend by local and professional performers. This year’s concert features indigenous performers of Sean Choolburra, Arc Dreaming, Marcus Corrowa and David Hudson.

18th October   Warwick Rodeo and Campdraft - Held at the Warwick Showgrounds since 1929, the Warwick Rodeo is known as 'Australia's Most Famous' rodeo. The legends of campdrafting and rough riding are all part of the history and tradition of the famous Warwick Rodeo. With a variety of events, including campdraft and rodeo, as well as entertainment, the Warwick Rodeo is an event not to be missed.

CRAFT & QUILT FAIR
Brisbane Exhibition Centre. Australia's favourite craft event. Under one roof, in just one day, you can shop with craft specialists from all over Australia, see magnificent displays and learn in FREE workshops. The Craft & Quilt Fair is the only event to host the annual quilt guild shows. There are more than 65 different workshops everyday at the fair where you can get hands-on or listen and learn.

QLD Model Railway Show - Ipswich. An impressive display of model railway layouts and trade displays and learn more about this hobby which has hundreds of thousands of followers worldwide. While at the Museum, visitors can discover over 16 interactive exhibition zones, each exploring a different aspect of the rail in Qld story. Try your hand at driving a big, rumbling train on a simulator, relive the romance of rail with beautifully restored heritage locomotives and carriages, and step back in time to see sparks fly .

Charleville Cup Festival 2010
There’s nothing like Spring to put a spring in your step. Experience it in full bloom at the Charlville Spring Festival, a four-day event bursting with activities from sports events to fashion shows, to food and market stalls. 12th & 13th November   Cunnamulla Fella Festival & PBR Challenger Series Bull Ride

Experience the thrill & hospitality of the west with Festival fun & PBR Challenger Series Bull Ride in Cunnamulla. Cowboys, bull riders, shearers and stockmen will converge on the famous town of Cunnamulla in country Queensland for one of the most diverse events in the state.

The programme includes an open air Free Country Music Concert sponsored by the Paroo Shire Council, the Cunnamulla Fella Challenge - a bush ‘Iron Man’ competition – a test of strength, bush cunning and survival skills, Poetry Competition Quick Shears and the Cunnamulla Opal Buckle – the richest bull ride in Western Queensland.
Expect to see... Some action packed entertainment as Australia’s best professional riders compete for the coveted Cunnamulla Opal Buckle. The Cunnamulla Fella Challenge is open to adults - over 18 years. The challenge, made up of 7 bush events, includes whip cracking and a cross cut saw race. Markets, children's activities, workshops of traditional bush skills provide a variety of events. There are plenty of things to do with a jam-packed program of entertainment with country music and a carnival atmosphere. The ‘Fella Festival’ makes for a great family day out with plenty of activities for the kids.

20th November   XXXX Gold Roma Cup
Get your backside trackside for One of the most exciting outback racing events in Queensland. The Roma Cup sees the finest fillies and cunning colts (we are not talking about the horses!), come together for a day of fun, frivolity and a bit of a flutter. The huge XXXX Roma Cup is a feature event of the town’s calendar where Roma heads to the track for the biggest day of the year.
