►6.01.2014 - GOOD FOOD & WINE SHOW - ADELAIDE. Hi all - It is with regret that we announce our event will not be returning to Adelaide in 2014. While we remain keen for the event to return to South Australia in some capacity, it has not been possible to generate sufficient support to make the show financially sustainable in its current format. Unlike many food and wine festivals around the country, the Good Food & Wine Show does not receive Government funding and we therefore need to ensure that the event is commercially viable. We will continue to explore opportunities in Adelaide, whether as a stand-alone show or as part of an existing event, but we need to ensure that whatever we come back with complements the existing food and wine offerings that can be found within South Australia. We would like to thank all of our previous visitors for your support and sincerely hope that we will be back in Adelaide in the not too distant future.
►11.11.2013 - GOOD NEWS FOR QLD EVENTS MORE than $20,000 has be given to Maryborough's Relish Food and Wine Fest in the latest round of the Tourism and Events Queensland Regional Development Program. Minister for Tourism Jann Stuckey said the State Government recognised the importance of events in driving visitors to regional communities. Relish, which will receive $21,250 for next year's event, is one of 52 events across Queensland sharing in $1.4 million. "In addition to developing Queensland's home-grown events, the latest round of the Regional Development Program will also see support provided for five new events to be held for the first time in 2014," she said. "Funding received through the Regional Development Program can be used for marketing activities to increase awareness of the event and destination, strategic planning, the engagement of short-term personnel and hire of temporary infrastructure.
The next Regional Development Program funding round is now open with applications closing on February 14 next year for events held between October 1, 2014, and March 31, 2016. To apply for funding, visit www.te.queensland.com.
►8.11.2013 - KINGS CROSS FESTIVAL We are disappointed to advise that 2013 Kings Cross Festival scheduled for November is being postponed. The Fitzroy Gardens upgrade will not be completed until March next year, and the temporary unavailability of this central space represents an obstacle to the successful staging of the Festival. We're also working to secure ongoing funding sources to ensure we can continue to put on a great event. We will work with the local businesses and the community to make the 2014 Festival great! Please do get in touch if you have any feedback or would like any more information - email@example.com
