Celebrating Greta Army & Migrant Camp 1939 - 1960

Central Hunter Business Chamber
Celebrating Greta Army & Migrant Camp 1939 - 1960
Celebrating Greta Army & Migrant Camp 1939 - 1960. Stallholders Wanted Greta is located in the Branxton area of the Hunter Valley NSW Applications are now open for new and quality products, food and drink vendors. Please email your interest to: events@centralhunterbusiness.com.au Our area has a strong military history connection – in WW1 321 men from Branxton and Greta enlisted and served our nation, some 60 men did not return and still to today some have no known graves in which families can pay respect at, no go to 1939, Greta becomes home to the largest Army Training Camp in Australia, training over 60,000 men for the 6th Division 2nd AIF. So in 2019 we celebrate the 80th Anniversary year of the Army camp that was the largest training establishment in WW2 training over 60,000 men for service in the AIF. The camp starting being built in November 1939, and received the first soldiers of the 2/11 Battalion of the 6th Division AIF on the 15 November 1939. The camp was also used to training the troops that were being trained for the Occupation Forces of Japan after the war. In 1949 the camp site was transferred to the Department of Immigration and became the home of over 100,000 migrants fleeing worn torn Europe and looking for a new home, the camp closed in 1960. The ownership of the site reverted back to Defence and was finally sold by public auction in 1980. We currently have approval to use the original camp site on camp road to host the festival – the site is some 2,930acres more than enough room to host a celebration of this scale. I current have a request in with JOCC to have Defence assets available, we plan to have a number of events over the two days as follows: **Saturday:** - Open address His Excellency the Governor of Australia General David Hurley, AC, DSC, (Retd), and The Hon J Sidoiti – Minster for Veterans and Multiculturism - Parade of vehicles troops, bands, etc. - Re-enactor displays, Fly overs of aircraft, Tiger Moth and Defence - Helicopters MRH 90 and fixed wing assets C130 Hercules throughout the day, Food and cooking displays, - Band marching playing tunes between other displays this would be from say 11am – 4.00 pm / 5.30pm - Mock battle runs with tanks and artillery, - Mass Pipes and Drums to finish the day **Sunday:** - Parade of vehicles troops, bands, etc. - Re-enactor displays - Fly overs of aircraft, Tiger Moth and Defence Helicopters MRH 90 and fixed wing assets C130 Hercules throughout the day, - Food and cooking displays, - Light Horse Display, - Band marching playing tunes between other displays this would be from say 11am – 4.00pm - Mock battle runs with tanks and artillery, - Mass Pipes and Drums to finish the day. The event is an amazing opportunity to celebrate the sacrifice and dedication of veterans and enable us to educate about a part of History regards Greta and the how the camp also became home to 100,000 migrants that called Australia home.

KITCHEN GADGETS
EVERYONE WANTS TO BE THEIR OWN BOSS. Think about it: you set your own hours and work when and where you want to. You can devote all your time and energy to something that you are passionate about, and feel that you are benefiting your clients directly Our goal is to provide you with ongoing support so you will reap the benefits only a Polyzand.com.au distributor will experience.*** As a Authorized polyzand.com.au distributor, you are able to plan your working hours around your life and family. This flexibility will allow you to do things like take your children to school and be there when they get home, and take holidays whenever it suits you. Earn some extra income while socialising and meeting new people who share your passion. Whether you’re looking to start your own business or just want some extra cash, you should definitely consider becoming a distributor for Polyzand.com.au. The opportunities are endless! For any questions you may have, please see FAQ or call your Tony on 0432 736 024 SET YOUR OWN SCHEDULE That’s right – if you’re the boss, you can set your own schedule. Perhaps you’d rather work both weekend days and take two weekdays off? Maybe you’re more productive at night, so you choose to stay up late and burn the midnight oil? When you are your own boss you can design your own schedule but beware, if you are sick, you still need to give the same sort of notice as you would in a regular job, so you will need to reassign your tasks to someone you trust RETAIN CONTROL When you work for others, you have to do things the way your manager wants them done. If you are your own boss, you can set your own standards and follow a plan that you think is best. Treat your business objectives and created processes with the same respect as you’d treat your manager’s. It’s important to set professional service standards early on but it’s also OK to learn things as you go. TURN YOUR PASSION INTO YOUR CAREER Most people don’t get to do what they love for a living and have to perform jobs that don’t really match their interests. When you are your own boss, it might be possible for you to work more closely in an industry that you love, compared to those of us employed within someone else’s company or business. Remember though, that you need to make sure that what you are passionate about is in demand. You may be the world’s best poodle groomer, but if you live in a regional town where only ten people have poodles, your business will not be profitable. In this scenario, you might have to look at other options such as starting a product website, where you sell dog grooming gear to other contractors to add to your profit margin.

NUMBAT AUSTRALIA

NUMBAT AUSTRALIA
NUMBAT AUSTRALIA
**NUMBAT Australia** – about the product The fabric used in the manufacture of NUMBAT Australia products is sourced from the hilly & mountainous regions of the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal where it has grown wild for centuries. Every piece is handmade by skilled and creative Himalayan artisans (men and women) using only natural and eco-friendly raw material. As a result of this by hand process colours and stitching may vary from one piece to another – this adds to the uniqueness of the product and its bohemian feel. **WHY WEAR HEMP?** Clothing made of hemp fibre is lightweight and absorbent, with three times the tensile strength of cotton and the first hemp plants were spun into fibre than 10,000 years ago. Whilst being durable and long lasting because it is grown free of any chemicals it is a healthy and environmentally conscious material for everyday clothing. Hemp also becomes softer with washing and will wear in rather than wear out, it has excellent breathability and insulation properties – Making the wearer cooler in summer and warmer in winter. ***By choosing to buy eco-friendly hemp fabric you are helping to protect our environment.***
