The Riverside Markets, operated by the Lions Club of Bathurst Macquarie are held at Berry Park, a delightful grassy spot with many shade trees on the northern banks of the Macquarie River offers plentiful parking, highway exposure and public facilities.
Forty to fifty stalls sell a huge range of items now vie for your attention, supported by a live music and the Macquarie Lions Club with their world famous bbq offerings. Along with bric’a’brac stalls, you will find jewellery,books, leatherwork, wooden toys and garden ornaments, clothing of all kinds for adults and children, crystals and mini gardens, Rawleigh products, cakes and other baked goods, local honey, non-alcohic beers, preserves, condiments, fresh produce in season, plants, candles, cards, vintage items, sweets, giftware, ironwork, recycled craft and other items.
After browsing the stalls patrons can have a yummy morning tea or lunch and a cuppa, sitting at tables or on the grass to listen to great live music. Public toilets are handy as is a children's playground. Berry Park is accessed via the first turn left off the Great Western Highway after crossing the Macquarie River when Sydney-bound, or the last right-hand turn before crossing the river if heading into Bathurst. The site is clearly sign-posted on the day. Markets are held on the first Saturday of each month except January and run from 8-ish until 1pm in the warmer months and from 9am until 1pm in winter.
