Get your singing voices and dancing shoes on, Fairy Emma will be leading the magical adventures in fairyland where your children’s imaginations can be set wild. Prefer to cuddle with the bunnies and goats? Visit farmer Sue and her gorgeous animal friends, where you can pat, feed and cuddle all her farm friends. Speaking of bunnies, come and join in the hunt for the special golden Easter Eggs. Grab a bucket, put your hunting goggles on and find as many Easter Eggs as possible to help Mr Easter Bunny unlock the special vault of eggs. To cap off your experience at the show, come experience the adrenaline of the MONSTER TRUCKS and their Jet Car!!!! Carnival. As always held in the York Town Hall over the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Easter Weekend. 1 hour pleasant drive from Midland to the Avon Valley a beautiful time to visit historic York. Once again there will be numerous stalls in the Town Hall, all selling a wide range of antique collectables and paraphernalia. This year there will be a number of outside market stalls in Peace Park across the road on the Saturday and Sunday. Stallholders welcome to apply with a choice of 2 great venues please contact Yvonne. York Friendship Club is a small group of older ladies who have raised thousands of dollars for various charities worldwide UNHCR, Med San Frontiers, OX Fam etc. over many years. Each month a different recipient is chosen. For the past 5 years they have successfully run the York Medieval Fayre for Perth’s ‘Homeless’ via various organisations will be held on Sunday 29th September 2019 with the Banquet on the Saturday night 28th September at the old Mill. They have a part time Op-Shop and run the monthly Peace Park Markets held on the 2nd Saturday. All proceeds raised over the easter weekend will be donated Fred Hollows Foundation. The main road is closed to traffic from 7 am to 5 pm, allowing pedestrians to enjoy over 130 stalls, a wonderful range of food from around the world, live entertainment including 3 main stages with 25+ performances on the day, local bands, singers, dance groups, rides for the kiddies & much, much more. The Redlands Rockabilly Revival is a large scale, one-day rockabilly festival, packed full of good times in the beautiful bayside in Redlands Coast. Now in it’s fourth big year, the popular event features a sprawling hot rod and classic car display surrounded by over 80 specialty market vendors. A tasty range of quality food trucks will be offering their delicacies, while kids rides and the Redland Museum provide extra entertainment and activities for all ages. In the concert plaza, Australia’s best rockabilly bands will be filling the dance floor, while the entrants for the Miss Rockabilly Revival pinup pageant will be strutting their stuff on stage. Bands featured include The Linelockers, B Daddy & The Double D’s, Suga Owens, Slim Gritty and DJ Leapin’ Lawrie. Tickets are priced from $4 to $16, families and welcome and kids enter free. Paws in the Park Get ready for some four-legged fun at the loveable Paws in the Park event on Sunday 5 May. Treat your pooch to a fun day out at the Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park between 9am and 1pm, entry via Cawdor Road. There will be more than 50 information stalls and displays, as well as demonstrations, free vet checks, tips on pet ownership, pet competitions, children's activities, food stalls, photo booth fun and more! The 3km pet walk will commence at 9am. Don’t miss special guest, Dr Harry Cooper OAM at this year’s Paws in the Park. Everyone’s favourite TV vet will hold a meet and greet with local four-legged residents as well as their owners and will be a guest judge in the competitions on the day. Competitions start from 10am under the big marquee in the arena. The Crookwell Showground comes alive as the Potato Festival celebrates Crookwell's long association of over 150 years with the potato. As always the event features live music and lots of other entertaining activities for young and old. There will be specialty potato cooking demonstrations, a diverse range of Crookwell's famous potatoes for sale and a charity Spud Auction. 2019 Special Guest - His Excellency Breandon O’Caollai the Irish Ambassador to Australia as in 2019 the festival goes Irish! HENRY LAWSON FESTIVAL, Grenfell, Central West NSW The Henry Lawson Festival is an annual event held in Grenfell, NSW on the June long weekend. Grenfell is the birthplace of Henry Lawson, one of Australia's best loved poets and writer of short stories. The Festival is one of the longest running arts events in NSW with repeat crowds expected of 9000 people. The festival kicks off on the Thursday evening with a special event at the Grenfell Art Gallery, and from there, through to the Monday a wide array of exhibitions, events and entertainment will be on show for all tastes and ages. Art and photography exhibitions, short story and verse competitions, a colourful street procession, children's rides, street entertainment including live music, and car show are just a few of the wonderful events taking place. Come and celebrate the 61st Henry Lawson Festival of Arts From 9am Saturday, the historical main street, right down to the old railway station, is converted into one long line of stalls and attractions. The Festival parade at 1.30 pm is ‘standing room only’ as many floats, marching bands and curiosities flow down the full length of the street. The main day of activities is the Saturday, however Sunday crowds have greatly increased over the last few years. The Sunday offers modest street activity focused around the car show. It is a gem of a place this little four block town in Outback Queensland, and we celebrate our uniqueness with an annual festival - The Yowah Opal Festival. Yowah's opal celebration occurs on the third weekend of the month of July each year. Located two hours drive from Cunnamulla on a sealed road. World class museum specimens of Yowah Nut Opal, Ironstone Matrix Opal, Opalized Wood Opal, Yowah Boulder Opal and Boulder Opal are on display as the locals share their prize collections with all. The Yowah Opal festival is fully catered and licensed for the week -end. Morning and afternoon tea, and three meals a day are cooked on the premises. Fresh food is provided including pit roasts, bar-b-ques, and smorgasbord for a three day bit of variety, including breakfast all days and on Monday before guests hit the track. Music and dancing is part of the festivities. The townspeople encourage everyone to talk to a miner. Yowah is billed as the "friendly" opalfield and the people gather to prove to you why. The town of Yowah is named after the opal field it grew from, and the Yowah opal field got its name from a creek that runs through it. In the 1890's the Yowah opal centered nut was feverishly mined. Today both the Yowah gem nut and its cousin, the Yowah opal matrix nut are equally sought after by both a national and an overseas gem market.
