As always held in the York Town Hall over the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Easter Weekend. 1 hour pleasant drive from Midland to the Avon Valley a beautiful time to visit historic York. Once again there will be numerous stalls in the Town Hall, all selling a wide range of antique collectables and paraphernalia. This year there will be a number of outside market stalls in Peace Park across the road on the Saturday and Sunday. Stallholders welcome to apply with a choice of 2 great venues please contact Yvonne. York Friendship Club is a small group of older ladies who have raised thousands of dollars for various charities worldwide UNHCR, Med San Frontiers, OX Fam etc. over many years. Each month a different recipient is chosen. For the past 5 years they have successfully run the York Medieval Fayre for Perth’s ‘Homeless’ via various organisations will be held on Sunday 29th September 2019 with the Banquet on the Saturday night 28th September at the old Mill. They have a part time Op-Shop and run the monthly Peace Park Markets held on the 2nd Saturday. All proceeds raised over the easter weekend will be donated Fred Hollows Foundation. The fair is run by Como Jannali Rotary Club with all proceeds going to local charities and Rotary humanitarian programs. Saturday 4th May and Sunday 5th May 2019 will see the Chevalier College Hall transformed into an impressive showcase of antiques when around twenty dealers from all around the country combine for the 32nd Southern Highlands Antiques Fair. Organised by antiques dealer Mick Dalton, this event has become a great drawcard for collectors both serious and novice alike. Traditionally the aim of a fair is to cater for all tastes and incomes, from the smallest thimble to a grand Victorian chest. Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale is enormous, enabling customers to view many different dealers all together under one roof, instead of travelling to twenty different establishments. Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectables and furniture, both rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride, the dealers themselves endeavouring to supply as much information as possible to help the collector. The Southern Highlands Antiques Fair is a major fundraiser for the Bowral and District Hospital Auxiliary who will provide delicious light lunches and morning and afternoon teas throughout the weekend of the fair as well as a raffle and a stall selling delicious cakes, biscuits and jams. The Southern Highlands Antiques Fair is open to the public from 9:00am until 5:00pm on Saturday 4th May and from 10:00am until 4:00pm on Sunday 5th May. Admission is $10.00 for adults and includes a lucky door prize ticket. Accompanied children are free. The 16th and 17th November 2019 will again see the School of Arts Hall at Robertson transformed into an impressive showcase of antiques when dealers from all around the country combine for the 11th Annual Robertson Antiques and Collectables Fair. Traditionally the aim of a fair is to cater for all tastes and incomes, from the smallest thimble to a grand Victorian chest. Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale is enormous, enabling customers to view many different dealers all together under one roof, instead of travelling to many different establishments. Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectables and furniture, both rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride, the dealers themselves endeavouring to supply as much information as possible to help the collector. The Robertson Antiques Fair will be a bonanza for the village with a great number of tourists visiting the fair and also visiting many local attractions such as our three local waterfalls, the Illawarra Fly treetop walk, the Robertson Heritage Railway Station Gallery , the Village Woodworks that and the Old Cheese Factory Complex. After your visit to the Antiques Fair there is still plenty to do in the village such as browsing through the many shops selling antiques, arts and crafts, paintings, books, foodstuffs and local produce. Also why not visit one of the many cafes for morning / afternoon tea or lunch. Events like the fair are important to the School of Arts Committee who rely on income from these functions to maintain the hall. During the fair the ladies from the hall committee will be serving light lunches and morning/afternoon teas. The Robertson Antiques Fair will be open to the public from 9am until 5pm on Saturday 16th November and from 10am until 4pm on Sunday 17th November .
