Berrima comes to life as the Wingecarribee Shire celebrates Australia Day. A DAY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY 9.30am Official Ceremony at Berrima Historic Court House incorporating a Citizenship Ceremony, announcement of the winners of Citizen and YoungCitizen of the Year awards and special address by the Australia Day Ambassador, followed by tea, coffee and lamingtons on the lawn at the Berrima Historic Court House. 12 noon The Grand Parade - is a colourful parade to entertain people of all ages. See Classic cars, local bands, cheer on our Emergency Services Volunteers, historic tractors and much much more in a street parade that is unique to Australia Day and Berrima. All day Market stalls, farmyard nursery, jumping castles and much more Grand Parade Nominations for participation in the Grand (Street) Parade are now open: Wingecarribee Shire Citizen of the Year Awards The Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year Awards recognise those who Nominations are now being sought in two categories and contributions can include individual acts of compassion, generosity or bravery. The Community are encouraged to nominate those they admire or whose contributions to the community they find inspiring. The 2019 Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards categories include Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year. The Young Citizen Award is open to people who are aged 25 years or younger.

"Aussie Aussie Aussie" will echo through the streets of Camden this Australia Day when the Camden community come together to celebrate our National Day of pride and the Australian spirit. Visit John Street, Camden for a BBQ breakfast and the Australian themed activities such as thong throwing, crocodile and animal encounters, from 8.00am. Attend a Thanksgiving Service performed by the Evangelical Sisters of Mary at the Camden Civic Centre from 8.30am, meet Camden's Australia Day Ambassador and welcome our newest Citizens and Award winners from 9.15am at the Camden Civic Centre, and line Argyle Street from 11.15am for the Macarthur Lions Street Parade. There will also be: FREE Australian tattoo's; FREE face painting; Koala cupcake making workshops; Cork hat making workshops; Petting Zoo; Entertainment featuring Ric Bailey and Mad Rhino; Thong throwing competitions; Reptile Display; Food and beverage stalls; The Macarthur Lions Street Parade; and more!

AUSTRALIA DAY CELEBRATIONS - HIGHFIELDS
Highfields Pioneer Village has traditionally hosted many thousands of people from near and far celebrating Australia Day in a unique heritage location.Australia Day Celebrations at Highfields will be Jam packed full of fun with displays and entertainment to interest all ages. At 9:00am the day kicks off with the Milking of the Cow, then Beekeeping, Blacksmithing, Working Draught Horse and Whip Cracking School. There will be plenty of good Aussie tucker, meat pies, vegemite sandwiches and Billy Tea and Damper. Guest Artists Trevor Dodds, Terry Arnold, Low Voltage and Catie-May will perform. There will be an Aboriginal Art display, Family Games and children will love the Baby Animals in the Nursery. We start at 9:00 and finish at around 5:00pm. Entry is $3 per person to support the heritage village, Under 12yrs are free, Entry after 1:30pm is Free of charge.

Every Man & His Dog Event is an iconic Australia Day Stand Up Paddle Board event in Watsons Bay. Now in its 4th year this event attracts competitors, spectators and locals from across the East and beyond. This year we are adding a small fashion and retail marketplace to the newly renovated Military Road Walkway between Doyles Restaurant and Watsons Bay Hotel. Celebrate Australia day and join the paddling fun at the SUP races, wander through the marketplace and enjoy lunch at this beautiful location in Robertson Park, Watsons Bay. We welcome new stalls with a range of products from fashion, jewellery, pet accessories, beachwear and accessories, toys, sporting goods and packaged food.

Springwood Australia Day Festival 2019 is held on Friday Jan 26 at Springwood Public School playground. It involves entertainment from local bands, dancers, singers, performers, from 10.00am till 4pm on 2 stages - non-stop entertainment. Over 2000 counted through the gate last year, we expect more this year, our 9th major event at this venue, as it keeps building each year. We have Food and Markets Stalls there with carnival rides, face painting and pony rides for the kids, BBQ and a Licenced Bar for mum and dad. It is a fundraiser for local participating Rural Fire Brigades and local SES. Stalls can be registered online http://www.lmfe.org.au/index.php/join-in/stalls. Market Stall, $85. ($65 for previous stallholders) Food Stalls $150 ($130 for previous stallholders) un-powered $30 extra for power (food only)

As always held in the York Town Hall over the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the Easter Weekend. 1 hour pleasant drive from Midland to the Avon Valley a beautiful time to visit historic York. Once again there will be numerous stalls in the Town Hall, all selling a wide range of antique collectables and paraphernalia. This year there will be a number of outside market stalls in Peace Park across the road on the Saturday and Sunday. Stallholders welcome to apply with a choice of 2 great venues please contact Yvonne. York Friendship Club is a small group of older ladies who have raised thousands of dollars for various charities worldwide UNHCR, Med San Frontiers, OX Fam etc. over many years. Each month a different recipient is chosen. For the past 5 years they have successfully run the York Medieval Fayre for Perth’s ‘Homeless’ via various organisations will be held on Sunday 29th September 2019 with the Banquet on the Saturday night 28th September at the old Mill. They have a part time Op-Shop and run the monthly Peace Park Markets held on the 2nd Saturday. All proceeds raised over the easter weekend will be donated Fred Hollows Foundation.
