Saturday 2nd May and Sunday 3rd May 2020 will see the Chevalier College Hall transformed into an impressive showcase of antiques when around twenty dealers from all around the country combine for the 33rd Southern Highlands Antiques Fair. Organised by antiques dealer Mick Dalton, this event has become a great drawcard for collectors both serious and novice alike. Traditionally the aim of a fair is to cater for all tastes and incomes, from the smallest thimble to a grand Victorian chest. Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale is enormous, enabling customers to view many different dealers all together under one roof, instead of travelling to twenty different establishments. Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectables and furniture, both rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride, the dealers themselves endeavouring to supply as much information as possible to help the collector. The Southern Highlands Antiques Fair is a major fundraiser for the Bowral and District Hospital Auxiliary who will provide delicious light lunches and morning and afternoon teas throughout the weekend of the fair as well as a raffle and a stall selling delicious cakes, biscuits and jams. The Southern Highlands Antiques Fair is open to the public from 9:00am until 5:00pm on Saturday 2nd May and from 10:00am until 4:00pm on Sunday 3rd May. The Crookwell Showground comes alive as the Potato Festival celebrates Crookwell's long association of over 150 years with the potato. As always the event features live music and lots of other entertaining activities for young and old. There will be specialty potato cooking demonstrations, a diverse range of Crookwell's famous potatoes for sale and a charity Spud Auction. 2019 Special Guest - His Excellency Breandon O’Caollai the Irish Ambassador to Australia as in 2019 the festival goes Irish! Irish potato dishes, Irish music and much more…. Other kid's activities and entertainment include Jumping Castle, Face painting, Bubble Man, Giant Games & Slide, Pets Parade and much more. There will be a wide range of market stalls, vintage and classic car show, Motor Trike rides and over 20 food stalls. Other activities and venues available over the weekend of the Potato Festival in Crookwell include art exhibitions at the Tea House and Gallery and the Crookwell District Art Gallery, Book Fair at the Library, Quilt Show, Crookwell Railway Museum, Alpaca Farm experience and Crystal Brook Gardens and Lavender Farm.

Springwood Foundation Day represents a huge day for the lower Blue Mountains community to participate in the festival that celebrates the spirit of our town. Whether young or old, you will find much to see & do as you stroll through Springwood on the day. The main road is closed to traffic from 7 am to 5 pm, allowing pedestrians to enjoy over 130 stalls, a wonderful range of food from around the world, live entertainment including 3 main stages with 25+ performances on the day, local bands, singers, dance groups, rides for the kiddies & much, much more. Applications NOW OPEN! - Food and Market Stalls, Street Performers and Stage Entertainers. Applications close 4 weeks before the event. Springwood Foundation Day gives local and regional organisations and businesses a chance to show the diversity that makes up our community. A Celtic Celebration filled with traditional dancing, Highland Games, East Coast Strongman Championships. Vanguard Re - enactment Guild. Free Archery for the children, Clan tents. Find your clan, pipe bands, and a wide range of stalls with Celtic goods, Celtic Food and other food plus Beverages for sale at Tomaree Sports Complex, Main Fenced Oval. No.1 Oval, Fully Fence field. BE PART OF SOMETHING SPECTACULAR Immerse yourself in an enchanting world of art, performance, colour and light at illuminate Wollondilly, Picton’s award-winning arts and cultural festival, taking place on Saturday 19th September 2020. Experience the township of Picton transformed with spectacular performing arts and live music, delicious local and international food, market stalls selling unique and eclectic items, and fun activities for all ages. As night falls, watch landmark buildings come to life with breathtaking digital projections from emerging and established local artists. This brilliant visual display will be curated by renowned multimedia artist Khaled Sabsabi, known for his immersive, engaging and enlightening visual experiences. The town’s glowing buildings will be the backdrop for the crowd-pleasing lantern parade, where children and adults parade through the festival footprint with paper lanterns they have created. The event will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over our historic town. Now in its sixth year, the reinvigorated illuminate Wollondilly 2020 is set to delight attendees like never before, with exciting new activities for the whole family and even more awe-inspiring lighting projections. New additions include LED dancers, street performers, DJ activation truck, silent disco and more. Illuminate Wollondilly is a free event and will run from 12 pm to 9 pm. In the three days leading up to the festival, local artworks will be displayed in Picton Shire Hall alongside a selection of artisan market stalls, showcasing the rich talent of the area. The 21st and 22nd November 2020 will again see the School of Arts Hall at Robertson transformed into an impressive showcase of antiques when dealers from all around the country combine for the 12th Annual Robertson Antiques and Collectables Fair. Traditionally the aim of a fair is to cater for all tastes and incomes, from the smallest thimble to a grand Victorian chest. Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale is enormous, enabling customers to view many different dealers all together under one roof, instead of travelling to many different establishments. Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectables and furniture, both rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride, the dealers themselves endeavouring to supply as much information as possible to help the collector. The Robertson Antiques Fair will be a bonanza for the village with a great number of tourists visiting the fair and also visiting many local attractions such as our three local waterfalls, the Illawarra Fly treetop walk, the Robertson Heritage Railway Station Gallery , the Village Woodworks, the Old Cheese Factory Complex and the Southern Highlands Artisans Collective After your visit to the Antiques Fair there is still plenty to do in the village such as browsing through the many shops selling antiques, arts and crafts, paintings, books, foodstuffs and local produce. Also why not visit one of the many cafes for morning / afternoon tea or lunch. Events like the fair are important to the School of Arts Committee who rely on income from these functions to maintain the hall. During the fair the ladies from the hall committee will be serving light lunches and morning/afternoon teas. The Robertson Antiques Fair will be open to the public from 10am until 5pm on Saturday 21st November and from 10am until 4pm on Sunday 22nd November .
